The Exaltation of Inanna

Projected for premiere in 2023/24, Knehans will set text from the cuneiform tablet transmission in ancient Sumerian from Enheduanna's Exaltation of Inanna (circa 2300 BCE), written in the city of Ur (present-day Iraq). Enheduanna is the first named author and composer in the world.
